Glazeguard Windows delivers high-performance retail glazing through early engagement, improving durability, security, and coordination.

Glazeguard Windows Pty Ltd

High-traffic retail environments place competing demands on glazing systems, requiring a balance of transparency, impact resistance, thermal performance, and security across large-format shopfronts.

At Gateway Kelso, Glazeguard Windows Pty Ltd delivered a coordinated glazing package across the major tenancies, integrating large-format panels and entry systems, including automatic sliding door systems, and a dedicated airlock entry to the Officeworks tenancy, to meet both performance requirements and operational use.

Central to the project was the selection of high-performance glass systems designed to meet both aesthetic and functional demands. The team specified 13.52mm Comfort Plus Clear toughened laminate glass with an SGP interlayer across the project.

“This balanced thermal performance while retaining the natural light you want in a large-scale shopfront, while also meeting security requirements,” explained Mitchell McKenzie, Director of Glazeguard Windows. “We focused on maximising natural light and visibility while delivering a high-access environment through reliable automatic sliding systems,” Mitchell added.

In higher-demand areas, Glazeguard upgraded to 17.52mm laminated glass to provide additional strength and resilience. The result is a glazing system that not only enhances visibility but delivers long-term durability in a high-traffic commercial setting.

“Everything was smooth from first site measure to final installation, the site was always ready, and the other trades were professional and easy to work with,” Mitchell said.

Gateway Kelso is a clear example of what’s possible when glazing is approached as a performance-driven system, not just a finishing trade.

By engaging a specialist contractor early, project teams can unlock better material selection, streamline coordination, and deliver shopfronts that meet real-world demands from day one. In high-traffic retail environments, that translates directly to reduced maintenance, improved security, and a better customer experience.

RJS Aluminium has delivered a refined and high-performance glazing package at The Archibald Mosman, contributing to the project’s boutique luxury positioning through precision craftsmanship and premium aluminium systems.

Engaged to deliver the full design, supply and installation of aluminium window and door systems, RJS Aluminium provided a comprehensive package across the development, including custom sliding and hinged systems, awning windows, fixed glazing, feature panels and large-format openings designed to maximise harbour and district views.

“Our approach focused on delivering a mix of systems that not only captured the views but also enhanced the overall architectural intent,” said Katherine De Vera, Project Manager.

System selection played a key role in achieving both performance and aesthetics, with Alspec Proglide sliding systems, 50mm framing for awning windows, and Alspec Hawksbury bi-fold windows utilised throughout.

Given the luxury nature of The Archibald, RJS Aluminium adopted a meticulous approach to finishes and installation. “There was a strong emphasis on premium finishes, including refined powder-coated and anodised aluminium, along with slimline profiles to maximise natural light and sightlines,” Katherine said. “We also placed a greater focus on precision installation and quality assurance to achieve clean, high-end visual outcomes.”

Close collaboration with TQM Design & Construct and other trades ensured seamless integration with the building façade. Early engagement, detailed shop drawings, and ongoing coordination with site teams and façade contractors enabled efficient sequencing and programme alignment. “Regular site meetings and proactive communication allowed us to coordinate effectively with all stakeholders and maintain progress on site,” Katherine added.

Through careful detailing, premium system selection and a commitment to quality, RJS Aluminium has delivered a façade solution that complements the architectural vision and elevates the living experience for residents at The Archibald Mosman.
