RJS Aluminium delivered premium glazing at The Archibald Mosman, enhancing performance, views, and architectural intent.

RJS Aluminium

RJS Aluminium has delivered a refined and high-performance glazing package at The Archibald Mosman, contributing to the project’s boutique luxury positioning through precision craftsmanship and premium aluminium systems.

Engaged to deliver the full design, supply and installation of aluminium window and door systems, RJS Aluminium provided a comprehensive package across the development, including custom sliding and hinged systems, awning windows, fixed glazing, feature panels and large-format openings designed to maximise harbour and district views.

“Our approach focused on delivering a mix of systems that not only captured the views but also enhanced the overall architectural intent,” said Katherine De Vera, Project Manager.

System selection played a key role in achieving both performance and aesthetics, with Alspec Proglide sliding systems, 50mm framing for awning windows, and Alspec Hawksbury bi-fold windows utilised throughout.

Given the luxury nature of The Archibald, RJS Aluminium adopted a meticulous approach to finishes and installation. “There was a strong emphasis on premium finishes, including refined powder-coated and anodised aluminium, along with slimline profiles to maximise natural light and sightlines,” Katherine said. “We also placed a greater focus on precision installation and quality assurance to achieve clean, high-end visual outcomes.”

Close collaboration with TQM Design & Construct and other trades ensured seamless integration with the building façade. Early engagement, detailed shop drawings, and ongoing coordination with site teams and façade contractors enabled efficient sequencing and programme alignment. “Regular site meetings and proactive communication allowed us to coordinate effectively with all stakeholders and maintain progress on site,” Katherine added.

Through careful detailing, premium system selection and a commitment to quality, RJS Aluminium has delivered a façade solution that complements the architectural vision and elevates the living experience for residents at The Archibald Mosman.

Ultrafix Commercial Pty Ltd

Founded in 1999 and based in Pakenham, Victoria, Ultrafix Commercial Pty Ltd has delivered commercial aluminium windows, doors and glazing packages for more than 27 years across education, retail and commercial projects.

“When you work with Ultrafix, we become an integral part of your builder’s programme,” said Director Jason Male. “No matter the situation, we deliver quality on time, every time. It’s that can-do, reliable attitude that you can expect from working with our team.”

That approach was demonstrated at St Francis Catholic College, where Ultrafix delivered the project’s windows, doors and glazing package.

Working with a team of seven, the company installed the distinctive segmented curtain wall system incorporating structural corner box sections and spandrel glazing adaptors on the south façade.

The project required careful problem-solving from the outset to resolve structural glazing constraints. Ultrafix contributed to the design of the final façade, creating a solution that was not only buildabile, but also balanced structural requirements with the project’s architectural intent.

Supported by a team of 17 experienced professionals, Ultrafix continues to deliver aluminium window, door and glazing packages across education, retail and commercial projects throughout Victoria.

While fabrication and installation remain core elements of façade delivery, projects involving bespoke glazing systems often require specialist input well before materials arrive on site. By contributing during design development, contractors can help address structural glazing constraints, improve constructability and support efficient project delivery.

This integrated approach continues to inform Ultrafix’s work across commercial, education and retail developments throughout Victoria.

Altitude Facades

In premium architectural projects, the facade is often where design ambition is won or lost. Delivering bespoke finishes, large-format glazing, and heritage-inspired detailing requires far more than product supply, it demands specialist expertise capable of transforming architectural intent into built reality.

This challenge is particularly evident in adaptive reuse developments, where façade systems must preserve a building’s architectural character while meeting contemporary performance, compliance, and constructability requirements.

For Altitude Facades NSW, these complex projects sit at the core of the company’s expertise. Established in 2014 and led by Managing Director Rino Soriente, whose 40 years of industry experience spans some of Sydney’s most significant projects, specialising in bespoke architectural glass, aluminium, and steel facades, cladding, windows, and canopies.

At the Rosebery Engine Yards refurbishment, Altitude Facades NSW delivered a customised steel glazing package that combined heritage authenticity with contemporary performance requirements. Responsible for the complete design, engineering, supply, and installation scope, the company navigated strict heritage requirements while maintaining the precision craftsmanship needed to realise the project’s architectural vision.

“This was an adaptive reuse project with a strict heritage compliance standard,” says Rino. “Every glazing and façade element had to match the original intent of the building, which required an exceptional level of care from design right through to installation.”

The scope included more than 2,500m² of clerestory windows and what is anticipated to be Australia’s largest pivot doors for a commercial retail setting. This remarkable achievement required the doors to be designed and fabricated entirely in-house, with a hand-applied rust finish used to achieve an authentic heritage aesthetic. Frameless glass doors completed the shopfront treatment.

Current projects include the Cutaway, SCEGGS Wilkingson House refurbishment, 175 Pitt Street, an early learning centre in Turramurra, and a façade refurbishment at Bondi Westfields.

JKA delivered custom glazing solutions balancing acoustic, energy, and aesthetic requirements for Metroplex Westgate.

JKA Commercial Glazing

JKA Commercial Glazing was engaged to deliver specialist glazing solutions that met Lot 2 Barracks Road’s rigorous design and performance standards. JKA’s scope included the supply and installation of commercial-grade aluminium windows and doors for both internal and external applications.

Externally, the team installed 150mm x 50mm front-glazed commercial framing, hinged doors, and an automatic sliding door, incorporating energy-efficient and acoustically rated Insulated Glass Units (IGUs). Internally, the same framing system was used along with double-pocket acoustic glazing, ensuring privacy, noise control,
and compliance across the board.

“Key requirements for the project included wind and water ratings, acoustic and energy performance, powder-coating, hardware, and aesthetic consistency,” said Andrew Woods, JKA General Manager. “We worked closely with Douglas Construction and used our in-house review systems to analyse all specifications, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and design intent.”

One of the standout challenges was finding glazing solutions that could balance energy efficiency, soundproofing, and privacy. JKA sourced and combined different types of glass, including painted glass for spandrel panels and coloured films for blocked-out privacy sections—often within the same window. Products used included Alspec Hunter front-glazed and acoustic framing, Alspec Swan commercial doors, and Duratec Zeus powder-coated finishes, paired with advanced IGU configurations and Auto Ingress operators.

Some windows, measuring up to 4.2m high, required pre-glazing offsite and installation using cranes and vacuum lifters due to limited site access. Despite these complexities, JKA delivered a sleek, high-performing glazing package.

“Our involvement in Metroplex Westgate highlights our ability to extract precise requirements from complex documents and deliver high-calibre glazing solutions on time,” said Andrew. “It’s a true testament to the expertise of our fabrication and installation teams, and our collaborative approach with clients and contractors.”
