SkyRidge Breaks Ground on New Major Destination
August 2023
SkyRidge, the Gold Coast region’s newest and largest master planned community, has commenced construction on what will become one of the city’s major destination parklands with extensive views of the Gold Coast skyline and Pacific Ocean.
Spanning almost two hectares and expected to open to the public in the first half of 2024, Lorikeet Park will feature a huge 500 person amphitheatre, 180-step stair climb elevating over approximately 30 metres, playground and barbeque areas, a fully fenced off-leash dog park and more.
Project Director Chris Alston says SkyRidge’s Lorikeet Park is set to become a landmark recreational and leisure destination that will serve as both a venue and civic space.
“Lorikeet Park is a major component of the SkyRidge park network that we will deliver as this thriving and vibrant community continues to come to life,” says Mr Alston.
“The location for Lorikeet Park was carefully selected to capitalise on the amazing expanse of Gold Coast skyline, and Pacific Ocean views, located within the heart of our first residential precincts being delivered at the end of this year and into early 2024.
“We believe Lorikeet Park will become a destination of choice due to the level and quality of the playground equipment which will be suitable for all ages from toddlers through to teenagers.
Set against the glittering backdrop of the Gold Coast skyline and packed with features, Lorikeet Park will also include a lookout and observation deck, family barbeque and picnic areas, cardiac challenging fitness zone, kick-about areas, unique sculpture and more.
The centrepiece of the park will be the amazing Lorikeet, with its elevated nest of adventure play perched at the top of the play space.
In addition to Lorikeet Park, a local active park named Gumnut Park will also open in the new year in The Ascent neighbourhood, with a focus on multiple exercise and fitness nodes, and a children’s play area with custom designed play equipment.
Lots within SkyRidge will offer a diverse range of home styles and lifestyle needs with a range available for immediate purchase.
A key feature of the development will be an expansive network of large open green spaces, integrated active path and trail networks, parkland and recreation areas, environmental corridors, and public art.
SkyRidge will also include a high-quality village shopping and retail centre.
Following completion of The Ascent neighbourhood later this year, SkyRidge will still have over 2,000 lots to release to the market progressively over the next 10 years.
