XL Precast Delivers Stadium-Ready Precast Concrete for Parramatta Eels
Case StudiesXL Precast specialist stadium seating and structural panels, overcoming one-sided site access constraints.
With extensive experience in delivering structural precast concrete solutions for major infrastructure, residential, commercial and industrial projects, XL Precast was proud to contribute to the Parramatta Eels NRL Centre of Excellence. The company was engaged to supply and install the precast concrete seating plats and structural panels for the facility.
“This project was a great fit for us. Kane partnered with us, as precast experts, to develop specialised solutions designed to meet the project requirements and to implement industry best practices,” said Alessandro Bentancur, Director at XL Precast.
“Our team has strong experience in working with our clients to deliver tailor made solutions, in this project the limitations and restriction of the site needed to be taken into consideration during the planning, manufacture, delivery and erection of the precast seating plats. Furthermore, the low tolerances required of the seating plats meant our accuracy and attention to detail really demanded the best from our team so we knew exactly what it would take to meet the standards expected of a professional-grade facility like this.”
One of the most significant challenges was the erection of the precast products from only one side of the building. “Because of the field on the other side, we had restricted access, so we had to plan and execute everything from one side only,” Alessandro explained. “That required precise logistics and coordination across all trades on site and significant planning with crane locations and erection methodologies.”
Another challenge was delivering high-quality seating plats with extremely tight tolerances, critical to both the structural performance and aesthetic finish of the stadium-style viewing areas. “We’re proud of the quality we achieved on this project. It’s a testament to the experience of our team and the processes we have in place,” Alessandro added.
Of XL Precast’s 125 staff, around 30 were involved in the Eels Centre of Excellence project, contributing their expertise to bring the design to life efficiently and safely.
Currently working on the Besix Watpac Woolworths project in Eastern Creek, XL Precast continues to be a trusted partner in the delivery of durable, high-performance precast concrete solutions across New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT.

Tech on the Front Foot:Ci Group’s AV Fit-Out Raises the Bar
Case StudiesCi Group delivered a high-performance AV fit-out, blending sport-focused functionality and innovation.
The Ci Group, a leader in work place technology, recently completed a high-performance audiovisual fit-out for the Parramatta Eels NRL Centre of Excellence.
Awarded the AV contract by Kane Constructions through a competitive tender process, Ci was tasked with delivering a comprehensive solution that met the dynamic needs of a high-performance sports environment.
“We worked closely with Kane and the project stakeholders to consult on the final AV design,” said Tim Watton Senior Account Manager for CI. “The focus was on functionality, reliability and performance—delivering a seamless experience for end-users and visitors.”
The scope of work included the supply and installation of LG commercial-grade displays throughout the facility, all configured to run Kayo Sports via embedded browser capabilities. VITEC media players were also integrated to manage and distribute live and recorded content across multiple zones. For audio, a QSC system was installed to deliver clear, immersive sound in key areas.
One unique challenge was designing a custom projector mount to accommodate the curved, stepped social seating zone, an area intended to be both visually engaging and highly functional. “That one challenged our engineering and operations teams, who came up with great solutions,” said Tim. “We had to ensure that when shortening the projector pole mount, that the projection angle was perfect while preserving the aesthetics of the space.”
“Kane were great construction partners to work with,” Tim noted. “We collaborated closely to resolve any issues in a timely manner and ensured the installation met the project schedule.”
The result is an AV system that not only enhances the day-to-day operations of the Eels’ elite training environment but also elevates the overall experience for community users. With this project, Ci once again demonstrated its capability to deliver innovative, tailored AV solutions for complex, multi-use facilities.
Once Kane completed the project, Ci maintains the relationship directly with the Parramatta Eels and ensures a high level of support and training continues for the staff and end-users. As Tim states, “It is not enough to just install and just deliver a project. Ci values the long-term success of the workplace technology solutions delivered and a great end-user experience for our partners and clients alike.”

Case StudiesA&E Tiling delivered durable, high-performance tiling and waterproofing for elite sports and high-traffic spaces.
A&E Tiling Services brought their signature precision, experience, and attention to detail to the Parramatta Eels NRL Centre of Excellence and Community Facility. With over 15 years in the industry, and led by Director, Yahya Hamdan, the team was responsible for delivering all tiling and waterproofing works across the landmark project.
“We completed floor preparation, tiling, and waterproofing across both buildings,” Yahya said. “That included high-use areas like the pool surrounds, change rooms, balconies, kitchen, and café, spaces that needed to look great but also handle serious wear and tear.”
As a high-performance training facility for elite athletes, every surface needed to combine durability, safety, and visual appeal. Yahya and his experienced crew of 20 delivered on that brief, working closely with other trades to ensure consistency across finishes. Their scope also included paving works, helping shape both the indoor and outdoor experience for players and visitors alike.
One of the most demanding elements was the pool surround tiling, which required careful planning and flawless waterproofing to ensure long-term performance. “There’s no room for shortcuts in an environment like this,” Yahya added. “Everything needs to be durable, slip-resistant, and visually aligned with the centre’s world-class design.”
The Parramatta Eels COE project is a proud addition to A&E Tiling Services’ growing portfolio, which includes high-end residential work in Mosman and Rozelle, warehouses in Kemps Creek, and commercial projects like Westfield Mt Druitt.

Tensioned for the Top Tier: CES Builds with Elite Performance in Mind
Case StudiesConcrete Engineering Solutions delivered precision post-tensioned systems for the Parramatta Eels’ high-performance Centre of Excellence.
As the Parramatta Eels’ long-awaited Centre of Excellence took shape, the structural integrity and performance of the facility were critical. That’s where Concrete Engineering Solutions (CES) came in—delivering precision-engineered, post-tensioned concrete systems to support the elite training complex’s bold architectural and performance ambitions.
“CES was engaged to supply and install the post-tensioned tendons across the Centre,” said Burhan Vandeliwala, Operations Director. “Our work was essential in achieving the wide spans and reduced slab depths required for spaces like the gymnasium and multipurpose zones.”
The team’s scope included the placement, stressing, and grouting of tendons, which enhanced structural performance while improving material efficiency. This approach reduced the concrete volume and steel reinforcement required—lowering the environmental footprint.
Complexities were part of the job, with high-load areas needing tailored solutions. “We worked closely with the structural team to refine the tendon layout and sequence,” Burhan noted. “Our in-house design and engineering capabilities allowed us to respond quickly to evolving site demands.”
In areas where exposed concrete aesthetics mattered, CES introduced innovative solutions—such as recessing grout holes and minimising visual impact while maintaining full structural function. “Our focus was precision and quality,” added Burhan. “From updated shop drawings to calibrated stressing and grouting under tight quality control, every step was managed to exceed expectations.”
“The Centre of Excellence showcases our ability to deliver complex, high-performance concrete systems where durability, sustainability, and structural excellence intersect,” said Burhan.
Our expertise extends beyond post-tensioned slabs. We also offer bespoke solutions for adaptive re-use projects and structural modifications—each requiring the same precision and engineering excellence that we demonstrated on this project.
With this project, Concrete Engineering Solutions reaffirmed its role as a leader in post-tensioned concrete and structural engineering—supporting not just buildings, but the future of elite Australian sport.

Mastering Complex Lifts with Experience and Precision
Case StudiesEverwilling Cranes expertly managed complex lifts, ensuring precise placement and safety for the Parramatta Eels Centre.
Sydney-based lifting specialists Everwilling Cranes contributed expert lifting solutions to the successful delivery of the Parramatta Eels Centre of Excellence, supporting one of the NRL’s most prominent infrastructure projects.
The company was responsible for the placement of large architectural precast panels and structural components, essential to the building’s striking design.
“We utilised a wide-ranging fleet of mobile cranes, including all-terrain cranes from 130t up to 300t,” said Steve Allen, General Manager. “This gave us the flexibility and power to manage complex loads despite the challenges of the site.”
Due to the undulating terrain, traditional Franna cranes couldn’t be used to rotate the panels. “We specifically deployed a 60t crane for that task,” explained Dean Lincoln, Business Development Manager. “This allowed for safe, accurate rotation and placement where space was tight and ground conditions were uneven.”
The site’s urban location presented further logistical hurdles. Bordered by residential properties, access was limited and community sensitivities high. “Kane Constructions did an excellent job liaising with residents,” said Steve. “That collaboration was key to maintaining safety and minimising disruption.”
On the technical side, close coordination with XL Precast and Kane Constructions enabled Everwilling to meet design intent with precision, particularly in areas with seating plats, where crane positioning was heavily restricted. “Every lift required meticulous planning,” said Dean. “We deployed high-capacity cranes with specialised rigging to achieve safe and accurate installs.”
Given the project’s profile, safety was paramount. Strategic rigging and custom-designed lifting gear ensured best practices were followed at every stage.
“Our work on the Eels Centre of Excellence is a true reflection of what makes Everwilling unique,” Steve said. “We’re problem-solvers, adaptable, experienced, and always ready to lift the challenge.”
